Hm, does that work when "he" acts in this way toward you?
I can see the "give him less" part.
However, I've never found "divided attention" to be attractive in anybody. I'm selfish enough that I want a person's complete attention, or I lose interest fast. I try to offer complete attention to people I'm talking to as well.
Y'know, do unto others...as you would be done unto. :-)
