Immaculee Ilibagiza
Is a survivor
Of the Rwandan Holocaust
She was hidden by a Hutu pastor
While her whole Tutsi family
Was brutally murdered
91 days with 7 other women
Hidden in a bathroom
3-foot by 4-foot
Totally silent until they could be
Smuggled out of the country
Upon arrival with other refugees
She weighed 65 pounds only
I am going to hear her speak
Here in San Francisco
I must go
To pay respects to her family
And 800,000 other innocents dead
I feel connected with her
And she will help me connect
With my own roots
As I am a Jew
