810. Woman Driver

My ballet classmate
Takes car racing lessons
And finds herself
The center of attention
When she first walks
Into the training room
And then remains
The only woman there

It's funny -- because my daughter is getting close to car-driving age, I was thinking of a friend of mine who also took car-racing lessons. Her father sent her to a famous school (in Marin?) to learn this. It wasn't that he wanted her to race cars but so she could develop her instincts and very fast reaction times.

I wonder what the driving world will look like in a few years as gas prices continue to soar and technology finally gives us automated "pre-crash emergency braking."
