Kisses and hugs
X's and O's
What does it mean
If sent only through email
If you can't spare your time
To be together
Hold hands, kiss in person
Experience life
In each others' arms

I'm reading from newest (May 22) to oldest posts, and I find you have mostly negative things to say about the new media.
I can buy it up to a point. Kissing a PDA is not a satisfactory experience, granted.
But! I find the new media of communication enriching, kind of like the layers of a baklava. You've got to have the substantial layer -- the sugary pistachios. But if that's in place (real-time togetherness), then oohlala when the layers of SMS, email, voicemail, cards, gifts, and so on add up to a pretty enticing package that our mothers never enjoyed.
Agreed. I wish it were more than just SMS. - Single San Francisco
