Song Form: Woman Overboard Unknown

As my need for you grew, your interest in me receded. I am unneeded. Startled and forlorn, I am a woman fallen overboard. Unseen. Unknown, In the deepest ocean.

As my hope turns to ice, I'm nothing in your eyes. I am unseated. Drowning and riptorn, I am a woman fallen overboard. Unseen. Unknown. In the deepest ocean.

As my need for you grew, your interest in me receded. I am unneeded. Startled and forlorn, I am a woman fallen overboard. Unseen. Unknown. In the deepest ocean.

As my heartbeat stills, lost love deftly kills. My love's unheeded. Drifting and unborn, I am a woman fallen overboard. Unseen. Unknown. In the deepest ocean.

As my need for you grew, your interest in me receded. I am unneeded. Startled and forlorn, I am a woman fallen overboard. Unseen. Unknown, In the deepest ocean.

Smilin' About Gas Price Hikes

The economy went south
Been living hand to mouth
Had to tighten my belt buckle
But one gas station's crew
Made me chuckle
It's no rumor
They have a sense of humor

On machines three and four
They know the price is more
They printed out
The word "Ouch"
Ain't that a kick
In the pouch

The economy went south
Been living hand to mouth
Had to tighten my belt buckle
But one gas station
Made me chuckle
It's no rumor
They have a sense of humor

Machines one and two
Oh my lord, and, Dude!
They just say "Yikes"
Well, hell
They made me smile
About gas price hikes

The economy went south
Been living hand to mouth
Had to tighten my belt buckle
But one gas station's crew
Made me chuckle
It's no rumor
They have a sense of humor

If they can go and
Make me laugh
They can make you
Laugh, too
I'll keep gassing up my truck
And I'll smile
While I pay the extra buck

“Pretty in Pink”
Hot
Pink
Primroses
Preen
Like
Teen
Princesses
Drenched
In sweet
Fragrance
Eager
For cotillion
To begin

The Man I Loved - an original show tune by Margot Rudell and Pablo Lococo

Hi Everybody!

Recently, I've been putting my poems to music. Here's my latest, "The Man I Loved," a show tune ready for Cabaret or Broadway.  All the gorgeous instrumental music, mixing, and producing was done by Pablo Lococo, an amazing musician based in Argentina.  I wrote the lyrics in 2012 and did the vocals in 2012, 2016, and 2017.  Smiles!

2142. The Monster Within

Depression is
A Monster
Fierce,
Terrifying.
Each day,
The opponent
Changes.
A new battle
Rages.
We fight
With swords
And knives -
Emotions,
Thoughts,
And words -
The mental
Kind.
I scarcely
Dare
Open or
Close
My eyes.
Each dream
Seethes
A new Hell:
Of drowning
As the sea
Surges,
Shame
Downs,
A raging
Fire surrounds,
Or the millionth
Cut takes
Its toll.
Awake
I grieve
And feel
Each loss
Real
And imagined.
Worst
Is knowing,
Knowing,
Knowing
This enemy
Is deathless.
