2001. Wonder

The movies
We watch
Are by Pixar
And Disney
Why?
Because
Some folks
Are old souls
But not us
We're a
Couple
Of five
Year olds
Still realizing
All
Of life's
Wonder

2000. Dual Millenium Poem

With this
Note
I form
My
Two
Thousandth
Poem

On Writing

1999. The Right Match

I need
A man
Who's happy
For me to be
Like a playful
Five year old
When I want
To be
And in another
Instant
Running
A company
I found
Just the one
For me

Happily Married in San Francisco

1998. Revisionist

You said
You read
Of me
Ejecting men
That's not
Really
What was
Happening
You see
That's the beauty
Of writing
I
Create
History

On Writing

1997. Not Robot

I cannot do
The same thing
The same way
Every day
I am not
A robot

About Women

1996. Picking a Grim Bone with the Media

I dislike
Minor
And major
Media's
Treatment
Of the tragic
Deaths
And injuries
In Haiti
These are people:
Friends and lovers
Sons and daughters
Fathers, mothers
Sisters, brothers
But you
With the camera
Just want to shock
To improve
Ratings and profits
Shed a tear
If you dare
Depict them

In remembrance

1995. Religious Seduction

Religiosity
Is seductive.
What have you
To lose?
You could
Gain
Happy Immortality.
Who needs
Moral integrity?
But some religions
Offer no such
Promise,
Only a sense
Of connection
To relations
You loved,
And perhaps,
That
Is better.

Finding Direction

1994. Haiti

These are not dead bodies
Just decomposing there
They are sisters and mothers
Daughters and fathers
Brothers, friends, and lovers
A few minutes earlier
These people were living
Who can believe
In a god
Who causes such suffering?
The earthquake took them
We will remember them all

Saying a prayer for all the people, who lost their lives in Haiti's terrible earthquake in January 2010.
