Lacking the need for life's non-essentials means that you've greyed out all the color in your life - and settled for plain oatmeal. By contrast, intense need and fulfillment -- for education, accomplishment, purchases, experiences, deep and mutual romantic love - provide rich, multifaceted, delicious, lasting, and all encompassing pleasure in every stage - in the anticipation, during the fulfillment, and after the fact. Heck, that's what life is for. Most of life's joy is in the imagination, active pursuit, and intensely fulfilled experience of our heart's strongest felt desires. Live life intensely to get the best of it. It makes the whole endeavor worthwhile.
